The current Lamar County Chancery Clerk, Wayne Smith, is retiring after his current term. After a host of candidates ran for the post in the primary, two candidates emerged to the run-off this Tuesday. They are Phillip D. Carlisle and Jamie Aultman.

There are also six other run-off races to be decided Tuesday in Lamar County.
