Laurel High School basketball standout Mackenzie Thomas signed a letter of intent with Jones College.

Thomas was named to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game and received All-District honors. She was also awarded for most rebounds, most points and most steals. Last season, she averaged 21 points a game and 7 rebounds.

She plans to major in engineering.

"I wanted to go to Jones, because of the family and the love they have there," Thomas said. "The coaching staff at Jones is amazing. It's somewhere I can succeed and be great."
