Week 4: Sports601 Jasper County Player of the Week

Caleb Dyess had his hand, and foot, in just about every area of Stringer’s 27-13 win over Mize in Week 4. Dyess passed for 87 yards and a touchdown, caught two picks on defense and punted the ball nine times for an average of 35.7 yards per kick.

The latter is what helped the Red Devils the most last Friday night in the two team’s first meeting since 2010. Dyess, on special teams, pinned Mize behind its own 20-yard line five times. It kept Mize in horrible field position all night. Dyess earns the title of Week 4’s Sports601 Jasper County Player of the Week.

“Caleb is very versatile,” said Stringer head coach John Brown. “He has done everything so far that we have asked of him. He’s more than just a quarterback for us.”

Dyess and the Red Devils improved to 3-1 on the season.

Stringer will host Loyd Star this Friday night in Week 5 for a non-region contest.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
