The East Jasper School Board has voted to cancel football for the 2020 season. The vote took place on Tuesday night during a regularly scheduled board meeting.
Only one high school, Heidelberg, is part of the East Jasper School District. However, the decision affects other teams in Region 5-2A, including Taylorsville, Bay Springs, Mize, Puckett, and Enterprise, who were scheduled to play Heidelberg in the regular season.
Heidelberg has been unavailable for comment.
