Here are your Jasper County Week 10 predictions as picked by Zach Buckley.
Enterprise at Bay SpringsÂ
Enterprise visits Bay Springs for homecoming.Â
I cannot think of one thing to get this Brady bunch fired up about it other than keep reminding them that this is the same school that beat Bay Springs when they went the State Championship. And Enterprise didn’t even make the playoffs.Â
Whether that’s enough reason or not to watch this game doesn’t matter. Go out and see the pretty girls and handsome young men representing 2018 Homecoming court. It should make for a beautiful night.
Prediction: Bay Springs 39, Enterprise 7
Taylorsville at Heidelberg
There’s no easy way to say this, but the Oilers have a slim to no chance of beating the mighty Tartars…and slim won’t be in Heidelberg Friday night either.
Prediction: Taylorsville 44, Heidelberg 6.
Stringer at East Marion
The Red Devils have had it pretty easy in their 8-game win streak, but all that stops this week. All the talk has been about Lumberton. Stringer better keeps their guard up in a hostile environment at East Marion.Â
These Eagles are better than you think. They put up 80 points last week. That won’t happen to the Devils, but expect some craziness in your trip to Marion County.
Prediction: Stringer 35, East Marion 22.
Benton Academy at Sylva-Bay Academy
The Saints have not won their district in 2010. Ladies and Gentlemen, that was a long time ago. That was Cody Prewitt’s senior year.Â
They’ve had only one winning season since 2010 which was Kendrick Abney’s senior year, who is now a starting LB for East Central Community College. What I like about this Sylva-Bay team, is there is no one superstar we will look back on and say without that one player we would have been just as successful.Â
No doubt there are some fine seniors that the Saints will sorely miss next year, but they keep amazing us with each win. Not only will they win a much-deserved district championship over Benton, but they will also do it at Homecoming in front of their largest crowd.
Prediction: Sylva Bay Academy 40, Benton Academy 0.
