Week 4 Jasper County Predictions

Here are your Jasper County Week 4 predictions as picked by Zach Buckley.

West Jones at Bay Springs

West Jones has a former legendary coach for Bay Springs, Scott Pierson. He is in a sense making a homecoming to a school that catapulted his career. Pierson has one of the top defensive ends in the country, Byron Young, who is committed to play at Alabama. Bay Springs has never beaten West Jones according to recent records. Do the Bulldogs have a chance to beat a school more than twice its size? I think at best; they will make it fun to watch. Pierson will not let the younger head coach Brady put that first win over West Jones on his resume.

Prediction: West Jones 21, Bay Springs 13.

Stringer at Mize

One of the best high school rivalries in Mississippi was Stringer vs. Mize. Sadly, that’s not the case anymore. Stringer dominated the Bulldogs last year and should do the same this year.

Prediction: Stringer 33, Mize 20.

Wilkinson County at Heidelberg

The Oilers were whipped up pretty good in a hostile environment by Lumberton last Friday. They now have to step up a class and host Wilkinson County. This should be a good match-up and a close game. I think home field advantage plays a role in the outcome.

Prediction: Heidelberg 29, Wilkinson County 27

Sylva-Bay Academy at Brookhaven Academy

How much gas does Sylva-Bay have left in the tank? They have three huge wins for their program, and Brookhaven, on paper, looks to be the better team. The Saints played them close last season, but couldn’t finish. This season, Sylva-Bay is the one finishing games and winning the second half. Do they have enough magic to make it 4-0? I cannot believe this turnaround. My minds says the Jaguars in a close one, but I’m going with my heart again.

Prediction: Sylva Bay Academy 14, Brookhaven Academy 13.
