The East Marion Eagles season came to an end in Bay Springs on Saturday night with a 68-63 loss to the Bulldogs. The score looked much closer than the actual game. The Eagles tried to play up-tempo, and that may have been their demise.

The Lady Oilers fell to East Marion in the first round 60-36 in the 2A state playoffs, and Thursday night, the Heidelberg men's team were thumped in round two by Newton 83-46.

Stringer head coach Bryce Randall admitted his team has been inconsistent at the free-throw line during the season. When they needed to make them the most, they did, and crucial makes in the final moments propelled Stringer to the second round with a 45-41 victory over West Bolivar.
