CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Keyara Jones closed out one of the most decorated careers in Jones College women's basketball by being named an NJCAA All-American for a second time, the committee announced on Tuesday.
The redshirt sophomore guard and Heidelberg product was selected a 2020 NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention.
Jones is just the third player in program history to be named a two-time NJCAA All-American, joining Alexis Tolefree and Nique Cherry. That duo went on to play at Arkansas and Clemson.
Jones played and started in 57 career games for the Bobcats, averaging 15.7 points as a freshman and 13.1 in her sophomore campaign. She added 2.6 rebounds per game to go along with 81 career assists, 70 steals and 17 blocks. Jones was also an 80 percent free throw shooter for her career, in addition to a 33 percent clip from three-point range.
The University of Alabama signee scored in double figures in 45 of 57 games, including 20 or more 14 times. She had a career-high 27 points in an 88-84 victory over No. 24 Three Rivers in the 2019 NJCAA Tournament.
Jones ends her JC career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, two-time NJCAA All-Region 23 selection, two-time All-MACJC nod, 2020 WBCA All-American and also played in the NJCAA All-Star Game.
Jones averaged 20 points per game in her senior season at Heidelberg, was named to The Clarion-Ledger's Dandy Dozen twice and was a nominee for the McDonald's All-American award.
