Two-time All-MACCC defensive tackle Jalen Williams (Tylertown) signed with Arkansas.

ELLISVILLE – A trio of Bobcat football players signed national letters of intent during the mid-year JC signing period on Wednesday to continue their careers at the Division I level.

Two-time All-MACCC defensive tackle Jalen Williams (Tylertown) signed with Arkansas, all-conference linebacker DeLawrence Butler (Clinton) inked with North Alabama and safety Bryce Turner (Clinton) who opted out for the 2020 season, is headed to Prairie View A&M.

Williams had multiple options before choosing to play for Sam Pittman and Arkansas. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound tackle also held offers from Georgia, Auburn, Missouri, Florida State, Baylor and Ole Miss among others. In two seasons, Williams tallied 58 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss and a pair of sacks.

Butler (6-0, 220) was a second team all-conference selection in a shortened COVID-19 season, finishing second on the team with 36 tackles. He had a pair of 10-tackle games to go along with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

As a true freshman in 2019, Turner (5-11, 170) played in all 10 games and finished with 11 tackles and two breakups.

The trio gives the Bobcats 98 next-level players in the Steve Buckley era (since 2016), including 79 to Division I programs.
