STARKVILLE – The 42nd annual Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter “Summer Extravaganza,” a celebration of Mississippi State athletics, will be held Tuesday, July 16 at the Clyde Muse Center in Pearl, Mississippi.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program officially begins at 7 p.m. The Clyde Muse Center is located on 515 Country Place Parkway at the Hinds Community College Rankin campus. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for all students and children, including MSU students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance here.
The formal program will include remarks from MSU head coaches Joe Moorhead, Ben Howland, Chris Lemonis, as well as women’s basketball associate head coach Johnnie Harris. Director of Athletics John Cohen and President Dr. Mark Keenum will also speak.
Select members of the 2019 Bulldog football team will sign autographs beginning when doors open in addition to the head coaches. “Bully” and the MSU spirit squads will also make appearances. Vendors and a kids area will be available.
The evening will celebrate the success of the 2018-19 athletic year and look ahead to an exciting 2019-20 campaign. A school-record 13 teams reached NCAA postseason play during 2018-19 athletic year with five squads finishing in the Top 25 of their respective polls. State claimed three SEC team championships, while the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball combined to win 151 games, representing the highest total in the SEC.
