Terri Lynn Loper was born December 2, 1960. She was a member of Love in Action Baptist Church of Laurel. She was loving, kind, high spirited woman. She went through many sacrifices to raise her two daughters and niece. She always gave her last to help anyone in need no matter where she went. She was loved by many throughout her community. She loved music and was a very talented artist, even won statewide with a painting of Sandy Gavin School in Laurel, MS. She also became a positive mentor and servant with the Salvation Army.

She departed her life on September 4, 2019 at South Central Regional Medical Center. She fought a long battle of congestive heart failure over these past few years. God spared her life in several traumatic situations. (He wasn’t ready for her then). He has now opened the gates saying, “Come on in Lynn”.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her brother, Joseph Loper of Detroit, MI; her daughter, Rebecca L. McGruder (Carlos McGruder) of Laurel; her niece whom she raised, Regina Walters (Cory Lyles, Jr. her nephew) of Laurel; her nieces and nephews, Earnest, Susan Walters, D’Wight, Micheal Walters of Taylorsville, MS, Sedarah, Latrice, Kristen, Kendra of Detroit, MI, and Kimberly Buckley and Shameka Clark of Laurel, MS; and her long-time friend/brother, John Steinhoff.

Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with a Chapel service at 3:30 p.m.

“Miss Me But Let Me Go”

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room; Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone. It’s all part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me but let me go.
