Ruby Stringer, 98, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Friday, July 16, 1920, in Smith County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs and the Burial will follow in Mt Nebo Cemetery. Bro. Adam Sloan will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby was a member of Union Baptist Church. She loved gardening, fishing, spending time with her children, grandchildren and loved helping others.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lane Ainsworth, second husband, Carl Stringer, parents, Pierce Walley and Eva Walley, sisters; Vally Boykin and Edith Parker, brother, Goodman Waley, great-granddaughter, Brandy Baldwin, son-in-law, Odie Bryant, granddaughter-in law, Brenda McMullan, great-granddaughter, Nicole Phillips, son-in-law, Donald Jones.

Survivors include her daughters; Elaine McMullan (Randolph Oot), Bobbie Blackwell (Jack), Johnnie Bryant, June Hollingshead (Jimmy), son, Roger Stringer (Faye), step-daughters; Shelby Jones, Ann Trest (Robert), 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, sister, Sue Walley Blakeney.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Eddie McMullan, Stacy Blackwell, Donnie Jones, Shannon Jones, Jacob Stringer, and Trey Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Windham, Cooper Myrick, Duane Eldridge, Robert Lane, Bill Walker, Danny McMullan, and Joe Ishee.
