Debra L. Hawkins Warren, 56, passed from this life into eternal life on Monday, February 15, 2021, after a courageous battle with COVID 19.
Born in Jackson, MS to Rufus and Dorris Hataway on August 11, 1964, Debbie dedicated her life to taking care of others while working on staff at various nursing homes and hospitals. Debbie loved traveling around the country in her RV with her husband, George. She also enjoyed making new friends through her Mary Kay Business. Debbie was a devout Christian and attended church at Wilmington Church of Nazarene.
She is preceded in death by father Rufus Hataway, grandparents Ensley and Mamie Hataway, Homer and Effie Cockrell, stepfather Kenneth Ferrell, and aunt Diane Myers.
She is survived by husband George Warren, mother Dorris (John) Beasley, brothers Gary Hataway, David (Sonia) Hataway, Mike (Georgia) Hataway, children Joseph Hawkins, Jeremy Hawkins, Bethany (Andrew) Smock, grandchildren Clark Smock, Dawson Hawkins, Tanner Sumrall, three nieces, and eight nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS. Graveside services will follow at Sharon Cemetery in Magee, MS at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Myers officiating.
