Brunner Eldridge Goff, age 94 passed away Friday, January 8, 2021. He was born October 28, 1926, in Benndale, MS to Brunner Oliver Goff and Ethel Fairley Goff. He was the fourth of ten children and attended Broome School in George County.
In 1951 he married Annie Joe David, who was his faithful loving wife for nearly 70 years. From his marriage to Annie Joe David, were born three daughters: Cheryl Ann Goff of Harvest, AL, Susan Goff Kwas (husband Robert) of Harvest, AL and Kimberly Goff Taylor (husband Rick) and Granddaughter, Erin Merril Taylor of Houston, Tx.
Brunner worked with the Western Geophysical Company for almost 30 years, in a job that allowed him to travel around much of the world. He enjoyed the travel but missed his family. After retiring from Western he went to work for McCoy’s Hardware where he enjoyed the customer interaction and was able to be with his family every night. He was there for ten years and then retired for a second time. Before and during retirement, he and Annie Joe traveled extensively in the West and particularly loved the Rocky Mountains.
Brunner was a faithful member of The First United Methodist Church of La marque, where he was an usher and served on various committees. He loved gardening and grew beautiful roses. He also had a vegetable garden at The First United Methodist Church of Clear Lake, where he was a frequent visitor and friend to fellow gardeners.
Brunner was a loyal husband and a devoted father who doted on his children. He was a wonderful Grandfather to his grandchild Erin. As a kind, gentle soul, he has few equals and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife Annie Joe David Goff; daughter Cheryl Ann Goff; daughter Susan Goff Kwas, daughter Kimberly David Goff Taylor, granddaughter Erin Merril Taylor; brother Everett Goff; sister Lavern Goff McLendon, sister Vermell Goff Brown, and sister Dorothy Lea Goff Howell.
