Ruthie Furman, 91 of Runnelstown, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at We Care Hospice in Moss Point, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Corinth Baptist Church with interment in Benny Hensarling Cemetery to follow.
Ruthie was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and was an avid University of Southern Mississippi sports fan. She also was a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Hershey Bears hockey teams. Ruthie retired after more than thirty years of service with Verizon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Red Furman; her parents, William and Bertha Cooley; a brother, William Cooley; and a sister, Connie Waltman.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Furman of Harrisburg, PA, Mark Furman of Laplace, LA; a daughter, E. Diane Mummart of Harrisburg, PA; two brothers, Jack C. (Mary) Cooley of Hattiesburg, James H. (Norma Faye) Cooley of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Sarah Bryant of Petal, Cecilia Ann (B.J.) Breland of Runnelstown; sister-in-law, Joyce Cooley of Runnelstown; brother-in-law, Rex Waltman of Hurley, MS; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ruthie will be at 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Corinth Baptist Church in Runnelstown.
