Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the West Black Creek Baptist Church in Sumrall for Rosemary Mauldin Mooney, 61 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Brother Brent King and Brother Joe Lott will officiate at the services. A private family interment will follow at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mr. James Arrington Goff, Mrs. Gwen Keys Hitt, and Brother Brent King. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the West Black Creek Baptist Church, 149 West Black Creek Road, Sumrall, Mississippi, 39482. The church and funeral home will adhere to the state's protocol on social distancing and no more than twenty people in the church at one time.
Pallbearers will be Dan Knight, Chance Mooney, Jacob Ellzey, Josh Ellzey, Randy Loftin, and Howard Hilton.
Mrs. Rose was born on September 21, 1958, in Collins, Mississippi to A.G. and Mary Nell Bynum Mauldin. She graduated from Collins High School in 1976, and furthered her education at Jones County Junior College, William Carey University, and the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Rose was an investment broker for Wellspring Wealth Group in Hattiesburg. She also taught private piano lessons to students all over the Covington County area. Mrs. Rose was a devoted member of the West Black Creek Baptist Church in Sumrall.
Mrs. Rose was a loving daughter, mother, grammy, and friend. She was a great supporter of the Collins High School Athletics, and inspired many of today’s youth with her wisdom. Mrs. Rose will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Mooney; her father, A.G. Mauldin; and her father-in-law, Allison B Mooney.
Survivors include two daughters, Wryn Mooney Morgan, and her husband, Tommy, and Kristen Mooney Scruggs, and her husband, Jeremy, all of Collins; her mother, Mary Nell Bynum Mauldin of Collins; one brother, Harry Mauldin of Collins; six grandchildren, Allison Morgan, Aniston Morgan, Archer Morgan, Maebry Scruggs, Molly Scruggs, and Mason Scruggs; her mother-in-law, Shirley Mooney of Collins; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Mooney Knight of Collins, and Linda Mooney Hedstrom of Reed Point, Montana; one brother-in-law, Don Mooney, and his wife, Maribeth of Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
