Bettie Jean Folks, 85, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, May 2, 1935, in Bay Springs, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery and burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Steve Pouncey will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Bettie Jean was a homemaker, loved her family and taking care of other kids. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shelling peas, watching her soaps and working her crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed her friends company at the manor and the nursing home. Famous for her sweet tea and fried chicken.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Monroe Folks, parents, Daniel Lamar and Ella Adams, brother, Johnny Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura Graves (Jimmy Dale), sons, Marcus Brent Folks, Robert Calvin Folks (Tonya), grandchildren, Jennifer Wallace, Jay Barnhart, Chase Folks (Shannon), Kylie Folks, Kaysie Morris (Chase), Hunter Folks, Gavin Folks, great-grandchildren, Camden Folks, Brinlee Folks, Olivia Morris, Lennox Folks, McKenna Wallace, sisters, Bobbie Nell Reed, JoAnn Pugh (Jerry), Carolyn Phillips (Winsel).
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
