Having survived both hurricanes Camille and Katrina, Camille Lenoir Storm of Hattiesburg succumbed to pneumonia brought on by Covid-19, Saturday, May 2, 2020. It was just 4 months before her 100th birthday.
Camille was born and raised in Magnolia, Mississippi to Jeanette Powell Lenoir and Leslie Lenoir. She graduated from Mississippi Southern College (later to become USM). She was married for 67 years to Harold E. Storm of Brookhaven, who preceded her in death in 2012. Since that time, she has lived in her home well past her 99th birthday, with the help of her friend and caregiver, Angeliai Green.
Camille loved to travel. In early marriage days, she saved enough S&H Green Stamps to buy a tent and camping gear to take the family on a trip to Florida. Even though a torrential downpour nearly washed them away, she was undaunted. She continued to plan and save, eventually buying a small airstream trailer. She and Harold travelled extensively, visiting every National Park in the US. She loved the Smoky Mountains. They went religiously to enjoy the change of seasons in the fall, taking her beloved Scottish terrier on every trip.
Camille is survived by her brother, Paul Lenoir of San Francisco, CA, daughter Cheryl Storm of Richmond, Virginia and son Mark Storm of Meredith, NH and his wife Linda, granddaughter Rebecca Storm Parcell and her husband Phil Parcell of Hollis, NH and grandson Matthew Storm and his wife Michelle Storm of Mansfield, Mass, and two great granddaughters, Carolyn and Josephine Parcell.
Due to recent events, the funeral will be a private service at Magnolia cemetery.
