Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton for Mrs. Carolyn Marie McCardle, age 78, of New Augusta who passed from this life on November 20, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital.
Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery of Richton. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas McCardle, Destin Crawford, Austin McCardle, Reed Crawford, Hunter Crawford, Chance Hartfield and Levi McCardle. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Yonce, Mike Yonce, Kenny Rigby, Jody Rigby, Billy Rigby, Mike Rigby, Tyler Ellis, Garrett Buckman and Cody Hartfield.
Mrs. McCardle was an active member of the New Augusta First United Methodist Church where she held many positions. She was a retired County Director with the Department of Human Services in Perry County. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in New Augusta and a volunteer at New Augusta Library. She was a lifetime volunteer with the Perry County 4H.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. “PeeWee” McCardle; parents, Lloyd and Alma Shimp; brother, Edward Shimp and stepfather, Harvey Myers,
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Dewayne) Hartfield of New Augusta, Traci McCardle of New August and Crystal (David) Crawford of Petal; son, Dirk (Selena) McCardle of Stringer; brother, William H. Shimp of Brooklyn, MS and sister, Virginia Rigby of Brooklyn, MS.
Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2020, at Jones and Son Funeral Home
