Harles Hicks, 89, of Ovett, Mississippi, died Tuesday November 24, 2020, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, June 4, 1931, in Uriah, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Rock Church in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 27, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at The Rock Church with burial to follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Rowley Jr. will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Harles was a member of The Rock Church. He spent most of his life working as a Carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in his garden, and with his family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joy May Hicks; parents, James and Ellen Prine Hicks; 16- brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Frankie Hicks; sons, Danny Hicks (Kelly), Donnie Hicks (Tonna), and Doyle Hicks (Darlene); step-children, John Maddox (Betsy), Mark Maddox (Robyn), and Sheryl Wiliams (Tom); grand-children, Lavon, Melanie, Tara, Bryce, Bruce, Kasey, Shawn, and Kimberly; 20-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
