Funeral services for Carl William Arnold, 92, were held Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville with military honors.
Mr. Arnold died March 28, 2019. Born in Mathiston, he was drafted into the United States Army in 1944 and proudly served his country during World War II. He received the ATO, EAMETO, Good Conduct and World War II Victory Medals. After his time in the service, he made his home in Smith County where he enjoyed farming and gardening. He was a member of First Baptist Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his spouse, Evelyn Westmoreland Arnold; parents, William Rufus and Virgie Arnold and siblings, Glen Arnold, Loyd Arnold, Roy Arnold, Sybil Logan and Virginia Arnold.
Survivors include his spouse, Annie Arnold; children, Bill (Robin) Arnold, Jr., Lynda (Charlie) Gambrell and Debbie (Mike) Herndon; stepchildren, Donnette (Wayne) Maner, Dewayne (Cindy) Bailey and Michelle Bailey; grandchildren, Taylor Arnold, Kyle Keady, Corey Gambrell, Brittney Gunnels, Isaac Herndon, Sommer Johnson, Corey Maner, Karli Smith, Dustin Bailey, Brittany Hawkins, Kaci Bailey and Johnathon Wade; six great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
