Jimmy Boone, 78, of Purvis, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Asbury Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church with interment in Boone Cemetery to follow.
Jimmy was a member of the Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church. He was a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard and had a long career in law enforcement. He had served as a Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputy and retired as the Chief of Police for the City of Purvis. He enjoyed being with his family and his church family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Carolyn Boone and a sister, Charlotte Saucier.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Shirley Boone of Purvis; four daughters, Deborah (Michael) Nicolosi of Hattiesburg, Tina (Kelly) Anderson of Brooklyn, Vickie (Jeff) Bullock of Hattiesburg, Tonya (Lawrence) Goodwin of Purvis; two brothers, David (Gail) Boone of Baton Rouge, Scott (Charlene) Boone of Purvis; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Jimmy will be at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December10, 2020, at the Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church.
