Mrs. Jaunita Byrd changed lives as an educator for over 30 years. She taught first graders to read, high schoolers to cook and sew, and all ages in between. Teaching was not a job for her- it was her calling.

She loved her Church. It was common knowledge that if something needed to be done, tell Jaunita! She would make sure it was done and done right. She loved her Church family and was a loyal prayer warrior

More than anything she loved her family. She was lucky enough to marry her high school sweetheart and celebrate 52 years as his loving wife. She had two beautiful daughters, but was a mother-aunt-grandma figure to all the children in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Easter F. Cardenas. She is survived by her husband, Patton Byrd of Richton; daughters, Tracy Allen of Richton and Amy (Butch) Carpenter of Richton; grandson, Wylee Allen of Richton and sister, Brenda Cardenas of Red Bay, AL.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – until.... Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church in Piave. Jones and Son Funeral Home of Richton is in charge of services.
