Dorothy Anderson Montague, 85, of Hattiesburg, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Asbury Hospice House. Services will be Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Moore Hattiesburg Chapel followed by burial in Soules Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Montague was born July 3, 1934, to the late Jake and Stella Anderson. She was the second oldest of eight siblings and helped raise her younger brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Rawls Springs Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Montague; two brothers, John Anderson and Woody Anderson; one sister, Carolyn Anderson; and one son-in-law, Paul Hobson.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Montague Hobson of Hattiesburg; one grandson, Rick (Carrie) Hobson of Sumrall; two brothers, Paul (Joyce) Anderson of Saucier and Erle (Norma) Anderson of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Syble (Nelson) Bounds of Sumrall and Cheryl (Jimmy) Speed of Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2020, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Asbury Hospice House.
