Marie Burge, 79, of Hattiesburg, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Merit Health Wesley. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Grantham Cemetery with graveside services immediately following at 11:30 a.m.
Mrs. Burge was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. She was a devoted pastor’s wife and mother. She spent many years working in retail sales and she retired with the Oak Grove School System as a teacher’s and librarian’s assistant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollon and Arzella Phillips; one sister, Arva Etta Sylvester; and one brother, Charles Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Burge of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Sheila Burge Mallard of Hattiesburg and Donna Burge of Westcliffe, CO; four grandchildren, Crystal Perotti of Tampa, FL, Kerri Mallard of Pensacola, FL, Ethan Eustace of Warrenton, VA, and Hayden Eustace of Starkville; and her beloved Yorkie, Sam.
