Rita Sue Whiddon, 74, of Purvis, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 11, 2020. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Boone Cemetery.
Mrs. Whiddon was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved going to church. She was a hands on stay at home mom. She enjoyed eating and spending time in fellowship with other senior citizens at the Purvis Senior Citizens Meal Site. Above all things, she loved her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wilborn Whiddon; and her parents, Charles and Rose Woodside.
She is survived by her three daughters, Hope (Billy) Howard of Purvis, Gwen Simmons of Louisville, KY, and Wanda Boswell of Louisville, KY; six step children; 5 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Woodside of Louisville, KY, and Charles Woodside of Louisville, KY; and her sister Clair Hoover of Louisville, KY.
