Laura Maxine Townsend Little, 86, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Friday, September 29, 1933, in Lena, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs and the Burial will follow in Bay Springs City Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Maxine was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church. She was a minister’s wife for 60 plus years. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and ministered to women whose lives were affected by incarceration. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and enjoyed her time outdoors, working in flowers and birdhouses. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the company of others while fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clyde Barnes Little, parents, DeQuency Townsend Sr. and Corrie Mae Townsend, great-grandson, Brady James Martin Waters, brother, DeQuency Townsend Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Little Waters, Kathy Case (Jim), grandchildren, Crimson Waters, Clay Mitchell (Stacey), Corrie Sistrunk (Andy), great-grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell, Aiden Mitchell, Kaylea Mitchell, Olivia Sistrunk, Andrew Sistrunk, Kate Sistrunk, great-great-grandchildren, Dylan Kade Waters Gaines, Ryleigh Yang, sister, Dreta Latham.

Pallbearers will be Clay Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Jim Case.
