Lemuel Stevens, age 97, of Grand Bay, Alabama passed to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Stevens was employed as a blacksmith with Laurel Machine and Foundry. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in World War II.
Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. Stevens and Margaret Doggett Stevens; and his wife, Frances Ruth Powers Stevens; his son, Robert Lemuel Stevens; and his siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Stevens Woodward of Grand Bay, AL; daughter-in-law, Joyce Long Stevens of Tomball, TX; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Memory Chapel in Laurel on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Florence Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Holder will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Todd Stevens, Gary Woodward, Steven Woodward, Larry Walters, Randy Stevens, and Bobby Stevens.
