Norine L. Sawyer, 81, died Friday September 27, 2019, at her residence in Ovett, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, January 18, 1938, in Monroe, Washington.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Antioch United Pentecostal Church in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch United Pentecostal Church in Laurel, Mississippi and the burial will follow in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Mike Dobbs, Bro. Chad Craft and Bro. Mike Dutton will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

Norine was a beloved pastor’s wife, mother, teacher, artist, and friend. She was the first lady of Antioch UPC in Laurel for the past 24 years. Norine taught at Jackson Christian Academy in Jackson, Mississippi for 12 years. She went on numerous mission trips throughout Central America performing puppet shows and training Sunday School teachers. Norine was the most selfless person. She was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Lee; mother, Nellie Lee; first husband, Floyd Boone; son, Brad Boone; brother, Ken Lee; sister, Darlene Kelley and brother, Gary Lee.

Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Bro. Gerald Sawyer; Children, Kathy Johnson (Rick), Jim Boone, Mitch Boone (Camille), Brent Sawyer (Lynn), Corie Denning (Rich); daughter in-law, Anna Boone; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Jean Powell.

Pallbearers will be Ben Wilson, Stanley Wilson, David Thompson, Andrew Hargrove, Shay Camp, and Perry Craft.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Breland, Cliff Davis, and David Speed.
