Hazel Diane Smith, 66, of Laurel, Mississippi, a beloved wife, grandmother and sister was called to her eternal resting home on Thursday April 16, 2020, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She entered this world on Sunday, October 18, 1953, in Laurel, Mississippi born to Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hiram and Hazel McNeill.
Private Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Matthews Cemetery in the Matthews community, with burial to follow in the Matthews Cemetery. Caleb Rawls will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents Billy Hiram and Hazel McNeill; Daughter, Kresta 'Rena' Smith Brashier; father in-law, William Brinson Smith; mother in-law, Pansey Marie Smith; brother in-law, Richard Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry W. Smith; son in-law, Mickey Brashier; grandchildren Cole Brashier, Landyn Brashier, Kenadi Brashier, and Holdyn Brashier; brother, Billy Ray McNeill; sisters, Patricia Hinton (Ronnie), and Glenda- Sue Spradley (Danny Roy); sister in-laws, Fran Hutchinson (Mike), and Janet Smith; brother in-law, Larrry E. Smith; Along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cade Hinton, Chris Hinton, Eric Hinton, Tony Myrick, Mickey Brashier, Gerald Gilbert.
