Shirley Gamble Crowe, 66, of Braithwaite, LA, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at the Ochsner’s Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2020, at the Purvis Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with interment in Coaltown Cemetery to follow.
Shirley was a member of the Delacroix Hope Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting and tending to her plants and flowers. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Caraway; her parents, Charlie and Marie Gamble; her paternal grandparents, John M. Gamble and Clyde Bennett Gamble; and maternal grandparents, Marvin Chambliss and Ruby Jean Johnson Tangye.
She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Alga Benjamin Crowe of Braithwaite, LA; two sons, Brandon (Tara) Crowe of Mountain Home, AR, Michael (Tanya) Crowe of Purvis; a daughter, Lorie Crowe of Oak Grove; a son-in-law, Quence Caraway of Atmore, AL; a brother, Charles (Becky) Gamble of Purvis; a sister, Debbie (Steve) Sumrall of Purvis; ten grandchildren, Caleb Crowe, Tyler Crowe, Nataleigh Crowe, Allison Bratton, Jordan Williams, Kyleigh Crowe, Emma Crowe, Eli Crowe, Benjamin Crowe, Grayson Caraway; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Shirley will be held at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the Purvis Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
