Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020, for Mr. William George "Bobo" Walley, age 77, of Richton, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton. Mr. Walley passed away on February 22, 2020, at Leakesville Rehab. Rev. Irvis Everett, Rev. Chuck McLain and Rev. Evans Freeman will officiate with burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dawson Freeman, Jeffery Freeman, Jericho Dickerson, Aidan Bordelon, Trevor Rowell, Boss Walley, Richard Walley and Junior Ellington.
Mr. Walley was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Rena B. Walley; son, Eugene Rowell; brothers, James Walley, Coleman Walley, Edgar Walley, Charles Walley; sister, Frances Conway; great-granddaughter, Dakota Freeman.
He is survived by his wife, Callie Walley of Richton; son, J.R. (Christy) Rowell of New Augusta; daughter, Rachel Freeman of Richton; daughter-in-law, Vivian Rowell of Richton; brother, Robert (Jean) Walley of Richton; sisters, Katherine Valentine of Richton; Ruby (Dee) Baird of Texas, Joanne Rosland of Texas; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walley lived and worked in West Wego, LA for Avondale Shipyard as a welder for 35 years before moving back home to Richton. He enjoyed his retirement which included keeping the grandchildren; working on lawnmowers; and tending to his chickens.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Jones and Son Funeral Home
