Lily A. “Meda” Prine Whittington Jones was born April 28, 1938, and died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 9, 2020, at the age of 81 years old.
She was a native and resident of Bond, Mississippi, and a longtime member of Word Alive Revival Center. Meda was a devout Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother who adored children and insisted they all call her “Granny”. Over her lifetime, Meda was many things for many people, but most of all a Christian who knew and exercised the avenue of prayer!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Beatrice Prine of Bond; her brothers George and Lee Prine; her husbands, Hoyt O. Whittington and Hubert N. Jones; son, James R. Whittington; grandchildren, Matthew Boone and Brittany Franzen.
She is survived by her brother, Paul (Shirley) Prine; her sister, Jane (Felder) Bond; children Duncan (Bonnie) Whittington, Rev. John (Juanita) Whittington, Susan Darlene (Wilson) Cousin, Greg (Jenny) Whittington, Rev. Sullivan (Gail) Jones, Tina Jones; five step-children, Wilson Deselle, Faye Bonin, Lynn Jones, Macie Kemp, and Lizzie Spencer and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rev. Dr. Mike Dobbs will conduct the 12 noon graveside service Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Bond Cemetery. Moore Funeral Service in Wiggins in charge of the arrangements.
