Ellison Holmes Hilbun, age 81, went to be with the Lord January 28, 2020.
Mr. Hilbun was born in Jones County, MS on April 11, 1938. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. He was a carpenter most of his life and was considered a “Jack of all trades”. He loved singing in church and fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was known for his wood working projects that he loved to share with everyone.
Mr. Hilbun was preceded in death by his mother, Vernice Todd Hilbun; his father, Rev. Glaston Hilbun; brother, Elton Hilbun; and sister, Evelyn Hilbun Scott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia Hilbun; son, Mark Ellis Hilbun (Betty); son, Hubert Miles Hilbun; daughter, Marnita Welborn (Stanley); and son, Marlen Holmes Hilbun (April). He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and also survived by two brothers, Edwin Hilbun and Elvin Hilbun.
Funeral services will be held at Big Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2 p.m. with the service following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Todd Cemetery. Rev. Justin Rhodes and Rev. Harold Floyd will officiate.
