Robert Bond, Sr., 62, passed away at his residence in Baxterville on Monday, September 14, 2020. Funeral services for Robert will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at the Purvis Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
Robert was a tug boat captain for thirty-eight years and retired from Progressive Barge Lines. When he was not on the River, Robert would spend as much time with his family as he could. He especially enjoyed cooking for them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Levis and Annie Lee Bond and a sister, Debbie Bond Lydecker.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Bond of Baxterville, three sons, Charles (Angela) Reid of Sumrall, Robbie (Eva) Bond, Jr. of Columbia, Jeremie Morgan of Baxterville; a daughter, Cassandra Hanenburg of Baxterville; three brothers, John Bond of Gautier, Joseph Bond of Petal, Richard Bond of New Orleans; four sisters, Carolyn Thurman of Petal, Glenda Bond Burke of Mobile, Patricia (Vidal) Bond Murillo of Petal, Rhonda Bond Harvey of Mt. Olive; six grandchildren, Taylor Reid, Tyler Reid, Hailey Reid, Harrison Reid, Troy Hingle, Ethan Bond; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
