John Rolland Strickland, Jr., 61, of Hattiesburg passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital.
Mr. Strickland was a roofer for over 40 years. When he wasn’t working, you could find him in his chair watching westerns or playing dominos. He had an addiction to candy. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in life by his wife, Margaret Lavonne Strickland; and his mother, Willa Dean Grantham.
He is survived by his son, John Cody (Raven) Strickland of Brandon; his daughter, Tiffany Strickland (Michael Travis) of Petal; his step-daughters, Cindy (Jason) Mathis of Houston, TX, and Monica (Traci) Foster of Waco, TX; his grandchildren, Jaxyn Strickland of Brandon, Cameron Travis of Petal, Zionna Foster of Hattiesburg, Morgan Wilson of Houston, TX, Jeffrey Wilson of Houston, TX, and Ashlynn Bradley of Corinth, MS; 5 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Lonnie Steele of Rawls Springs.
