Myrtle Etau Rayborn, 81, of Purvis, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019, at her home. Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Purvis Church of God with services immediately following at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Myrtle was a wonderful wife, mother, “Nannie”, sister and aunt to everyone. She served in her church as Pianist, Sunday School teacher, Clerk for over 50 years. She was a giver to each and every person she met. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She loved to watch her grandchildren in their school and extracurricular activities. We were all blessed to know and love her. While we will miss her daily presence with us here on Earth, we rejoice in knowing that we will see her again one day in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Merrill, Sr.; her mother, Nancy Laura Broome Merrill; three brothers, Clarence Merrill, Jr., James Merrill and Carl Merrill; and three sisters, Theresa Williams, Jerry Roberts and LaQuita Beasley.
She leaves behind her husband, Judge Mark Rayborn; one son, Mark Rayborn (wife, Valerie); three daughters, Gay Lawson (husband, David), Kay Rayborn, and Carmen Lee (husband, Donald); four grandsons, Jon Mark Rayborn (wife, Megan), Bradley Rayborn (wife, Bailee), Jared Lee and Zachary Lawson; three granddaughters, Kristen Lowery (husband, Jared), Evelyn Lawson and Bethany Lawson; two great grandsons, Landon and Micah Lowery; two great granddaughters, Paisley and Avie Jo Rayborn; three sisters, Darnell Hill, Arnette Cowart, and LaFern Bolton; one brother, Wayne Merrill; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
