Surrounded by all of her children and in the comfort of her own home, Mary Claire Mercier Debrow left this world to be with our Lord and Savior on July 10, 2020.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery to follow.

Mary Claire Debrow was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on May 19, 1930. Known for her playful personality and kind heart, she was always sure to find her fair share of mischief. Evidently there was something about this streak of mischief that caught the eye of Charles Leo Debrow; the two avid dancers only stepped on each other’s toes twice before falling in love and getting married at the weekly mass on January 4, 1949.

Mary and Charles Debrow raised a loving family in Houston, Texas. Their strong faith in Christ was evident through their children and all the lives they touched. She was a devoted mother pouring all of her time and energy into her children, their endeavors, and eventually her grandchildren’s. Mary Debrow was a beacon of laughter and happiness that spread to anyone and everyone around her. She was rare, she was feisty, and she was the most loving mother and wife we could’ve been blessed with.

Mary is survived by her children; Adrianne Debrow, Charles Debrow, Ellen Rittmann, John Debrow, Joseph Debrow; her siblings, Rev. Joseph Mercier, Damien Mercier, Theresa Morgan, Adrian Mercier; her grandchildren, Justin Debrow, Kristen Debrow, Christian Rittmann, Dean Rittmann, Randall Rittmann, Adrienne Rittmann, Sarah Debrow, Mary Claire Debrow, and Emily Debrow.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
