Marie Spruill Bray, age 84, of Laurel passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Marie was born on June 21, 1935, to James Willette and Erin McDade Spruill in Webster County, MS on December 26, 1952. She married the love of her life, and husband of 65 years, William Rad Bray, Sr.

Marie was an inspector/shipping manager for many years at Cal-Jac in Macon. She was a loving wife and mother to her sons. The greatest joys of her life included church, her family, and friends.

Marie’s hobbies included playing the piano, watching her Boston Celtics Basketball team. She also loved gardening, bird watching, and cooking. Marie was an avid reader and often times could be found relaxing with a book in hand.

Marie is preceded in death by her mother, Erin (McDade) Spruill Foster; father, James Willette Spruill; step father, Otho Curt Foster; sisters, Miriam Slough, Wilda Butler, Inez Edmonds; brothers, George and Oscar Spruill; and grandson, Christopher Ryan Bray.

Marie is survived by her husband, William Rad Bray, Sr. of Laurel; son, William Rad Bray, Jr. (and wife Martha) of Laurel, and James Stanley Bray (and wife Linda) of Tallahassee, FL; grandson, William Rad (Lil Rad) Bray, III (and wife Andrea) of Santa Ana CA, Kevin Thomas Bray (and wife LeAnn) of Laurel; and grandchildren, Kyira Wicks Bray, Ryder, Maci and Nolan, as well as her church family and many friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Shady Grove Cemetery. The procession will meet at 9:30 a.m. at Memory Chapel.

Pallbearers include: William Rad Bray, Jr, James Stanley Bray, William Rad Bray, III, Kevin Thomas Bray, Ryder Ayden Bray, and Larry Walker.
