Sgt. James “Buck” Roberts, Jr, 56, of McLain passed away on July 26, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Sgt. Roberts was a member of The Sanctuary in Douglas, GA. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid antique and designer watch/knife collector. He was enrolled in the ISOW Associate Degree program in Biblical Studies, and he never allowed a day to pass without showing his love and devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, James “Buck” Roberts, Sr; his mother, Shirley McLain Green; and his grandparents, Dossie and Jewell McLain.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stella Hillman Roberts of McLain; his three sons, James Ryan (Amanda) Roberts of Albertville, AL, Noah Jamason Roberts of McLain, and Andrew Styron of Leakesville, MS; his seven grandchildren; and his three siblings, Charles “Chuck” Roberts of McLain, Sherry (Cliff) Breland of Hattiesburg, and Mack (Amy) Lister of Petal.
Due to COVID-19 limitations, the family will have a private funeral service at a later date.
