Jennie Bell Hickson Brownlee, 86, of Laurel, MS, passed from this world into her heavenly home on Saturday, August 8, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Jennie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gaddis Brownlee; children, Kay (Charles) Waites, Patricia (William) Temple, Timmy (Sylvia) Brownlee, and Kenny Brownlee; grandchildren, Nikki (Kenny) McCollough, Ben (Jenny) Temple, Andy Waites, Kyle (Amanda) Brownlee, Candy (Buddy) Taylor, and Blake Brownlee; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Martha Wood; and her beloved dog, Zac.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, Sam F. and Juanice Hickson; an infant daughter; brother, William “Pete” Hickson and James O. Hickson; sisters, Ada Hickson, Bessie Ellis, and Diane May.
Jennie was a faithful member of Oakland Grove Baptist Church. She loved to cook for her family and work in her flower gardens. Jennie always put the needs of her family above her own. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother and will be missed greatly.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on August 11, 2020, at Oakland Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the graveside service following at 10:00 a.m.
Brother Corey Vermilyea and Brother Mike Powell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Andy Waites, Kyle Brownlee, Buddy Taylor, Chase Smith, and Bobby Hickson.
The family requests that all visitors wear a face covering and abide by social distancing recommendations.
