Dennis M. Whittington, age 81, passed away at his home in Perkinston on June 20, 2020. He was born on August 6, 1938, in Ramsey Springs, MS. Mr. Whittington was a long-time resident of George County, was a member and deacon at Pine Bluff Missionary Baptist Church, and served in the National Guard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Turner and Bertha Whittington and his brothers, Wayne Whittington and Herman Ray Whittington.
Mr. Whittington is survived by his wife of 54 years, Freda Lott Whittington; sons, Russell Whittington of Perkinston, Farrell (Jessie) Whittington of Perkinston, and Darrell (Cindy) Whittington of Perkinston; sister, Mertis Beech of Semmes, AL; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Katie, Dana, Natalie, Dwayne, Rachael and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on June 24, 2020, from 4:00-9:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020,, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Bluff Cemetery. Moore Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
