He was a pharmacist, medical doctor, and had a law degree. He was loved by everyone that he came in contact with. He completed his medical residency through the University of Arkansas and practiced in Malvern, AR, before moving back to Raleigh, his home town, to practice medicine. He worked at Boswell Regional Center for 8 years before working as an ER Physician. He enjoyed woodworking, cars, his new boat, and could fix anything but did not play golf. He loved his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandson. He encouraged all he came in contact with to go to school and get a better life through an education, which is what he had done himself. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Words cannot express the loss that the family and friends feel from the loss of this wonderful man that helped, inspired, cared for, and loved us all.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alta Mae Butler.
