Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton for Mrs. Helen Jane Maxie, age 90, of Richton who passed from this life on October 24, 2020, at her residence. Bro. Ronnie "Jiggs" Maxie will officiate the service with burial to follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Prentiss C. Newsome, Zachary A. Sanford, Landon B. Newsome, Brayden E. Atwood, David B. Moore IV, Richard McDaniel and Michael Hinton serving as alternate.
Mrs. Maxie was born on July 9, 1930, to Mr. Frank and Elizabeth Lula Garner Ready. She was employed for over 30 years with the Perry County Schools working in the cafeteria and as a bus driver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Clinton Maxie, Sr.; son, Thomas Ray Maxie and James Ricky Maxie and daughter, Jolene Ready.
She is survived by her son, Leo Clinton Maxie, Jr. (Clara) of Richton; daughters, Shirley Maxie (Steve) of Richton, Elizabeth Jane Hinton (Ronnie) of New Augusta and Lisa Joy Sanford (Greg) of Petal.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Jones and Son Funeral Home.
