A memorial visitation for Bernice “B” Sutton, age 62, of Hattiesburg, will be held from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2020, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Oak Grove. Following the visitation, friends are invited to join the family at B’s home for a brief service to scatter her cremains in her beloved gardens.

Bernice or B as she was affectionately known, worked for many years as a butcher at Family Meat Company before her health declined. She loved to garden with her mother, share her love of plants and trees with anyone that would listen, and wood work in her shop. She also loved to tend to her animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Bobbie Sutton.

She is survived by her partner of over 30 years, Kevin Turner, her baby dog, Shelby Blaze Sutton; her son, Joey Turner of Tupelo; her granddaughter, Isla Turner of Covington, TN; her sisters, Anita Bishop and Marlean Bounds of Sumrall; her brother, Randell Sutton Sr. of Hattiesburg, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and the red apron gang.

In lieu of flowers, donations in B’s honor can be made to the Hub City Humane Society, 95 Jackson Rd. Hattiesburg, MS 39402

For those who may not feel comfortable coming out to celebrate B’s life, please take a moment to remember her life and the good times she shared.
