Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, for Mrs. Doris Angela McLendon, age 80, of Beaumont, at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton. Mrs. McLendon passed away to her heavenly home on December 15, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital. Bro. Kenneth McLendon and Bro. Gary Gleason will officiate the service with burial to follow in Union Cemetery.
Mrs. McLendon owned and operated The Western Auto for over 30 years. She served as a church pianist for almost 60 years and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of New Augusta. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who never met a stranger.
Mrs. McLendon was preceded in death by her first husband, Aldin Hinton; son, Ricky A. Hinton; grandson, Logan H. Hinton; brothers, Rex Roberts and Dan Roberts.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Rev. Kenneth McLendon; son, Joey (Ramona) Hinton; Michael (Amalia) McLendon of Hattiesburg, Beth (Greg) Morgan of Seminary, Mark (Ann) McLendon of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Harland White, Victoria White, Gabby White, Ian McLendon, Hayden McLendon, Kenny Morgan, Monica Hynum; 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, December 18, 2020, 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton.
