Neville H. Davis, 81, of Stringer, Mississippi, died Monday, August 19, 2019, at his residence in Stringer, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, July 20, 1938, in Rayville, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and the Burial will follow in Union Line Cemetery. Bro. Mickey Kelley and Bro. James Walker will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Neville worked/retired from Chesley Pruitt, he was an entrepreneur in the logging business. He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known as Papaw, member of Open Door Baptist Church. He loved/served the Lord. He had a lot of wisdom. He knew how to do just about anything. He was a hard worker. He was proud of his home and family, believed in providing for them. He loved gardening and shared his crop with many. He had so many good qualities, it’s hard to list them all. He will be loved and missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lemual Davis Sr; mother, Nellie Davis; sons, Morgan "Joe" Parlow Jr and Ellis Holston Davis; sisters, Bernice Spencer, Martha Ellen Huckelby and Silvia Davis; brothers, Robert Davis, Lemual Davis Jr, Don Davis, Lemoine "Pete" Davis and Mack Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 53 1/2 years Melba Davis; son, Neville Brian "Coon" Davis; daughters, Millie Buckler and Vanessa Williams (Robert); daughter in-law, Flo Parlow; sister, Ida Rue Moore; grandchildren, Morgan Parlow III (Kacie), Melba "Lee" Williams, Cheryl Boyd (William), Jeremy Yeager (Jessie), Brian Michael Davis (Crystal), Madison Ellis (Jonathan), Brooke Davis, Preston Beard, Donald "Doodle" Slade (Jessica), Sonya Smith (Jamie), Tina Farris (Adam), Wesley Long and Victoria Beard; 14-great-grandchildren; 3-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Neville Brian "Coon" Davis, Morgan Parlow III, Jamie Smith, Melba "Lee" Williams, Madison Ellis and Brian Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Michael Davis, William "Bill" Jones, Doug Kilgore, Cheryl Boyde, Roy Pruit and Roger Pruit.
