Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020, for Mr. Harold Timothy Burnett, age 88, of Richton, at Jones and Son Chapel. Mr. Burnett passed away to his heavenly home on March 15, 2020, at his residence. Bro. Rayburn Freeman and Bro. Dustin Helton will officiate with burial to follow in Freeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Thompson, Jacob Wiggins, Dustin Burnett, Jimmy D. Walley, Clayton Burnett and Ernie Burnett.
Mr. Burnett was preceded in death by his wife, Jannice Burnett; parents, Alfred and Ida Burnett; brothers, Alfred Burnett Jr., Oscar Burnett, Ford Burnett; sisters, Colene Summers, Azalene Walley.
He is survived by his sons, Harold S. (Athena Hall) Burnett of Petal, Troy W. (Dedra) Burnett of Richton; step-sons, Terry Walley of Richton, Mark Walley of Richton, Muril Walley of Richton, Timmy Hill of Petal, Donny Hill of New Augusta, Dale Hill of Mobile, AL; step-daughters, Janita West of Lucedale, Jackie Simmons of Waynesboro; brother, Floyd (Maggie) Burnett of Richton; sister, Zelline Hall of Laurel; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Burnett was a member of Zion Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter; Army veteran; great dad; and a blessed friend.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2020, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton.
