Mary Louise Welborn, 72, of Laurel, MS, died Sunday, June 16th, 2019, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. She was born Tuesday, February 18, 1947, in Laurel, MS.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary, also known as "Sister" or "Little Bit" to many, loved her family deeply. She particularly enjoyed family gatherings, especially holidays. She was the 1963-64 Home Coming Queen at Myrick High School and was also voted most popular her Senior year. She loved to cook and bake and was renown for her birthday cakes. She was a talented florist and spent may years blessing others through her work at Dorris Tanner Flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and was the glue that held her family together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Marshall Gardner and Mary Lou Gardner; husband, Joseph Welborn and brother, Jimmie Harold "PeeWee" Gardner.
Survivors include her children, Angela Clark, Laurel, MS, Bobby Ray Holifield Jr., Laurel, MS and Pamela Dawn Myrick and fiancé, Todd Jordan, Laurel, MS; siblings, Barbara Reeves, Laurel, MS, JoAnn Love, Laurel, MS, Sheila Craven, Laurel, MS and Rita Gardner, Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Brianna Henderson (Landon), Laurel, MS, Bailee Reed (Taylor), Soso, MS, Hannah Ray Davis (Walter), Bay Springs, MS, Rebecca Hawk (Josh), Laurel, MS, Amber Thatch Fretwell, Heidelberg, MS, Brittany Myrick, Laurel, MS, Katlyn Myrick, Laurel, MS; great grandchildren, Dawson Henderson, Kaden Henderson, Leland Henderson, Rylan Henderson, Adelynne Fretwell, Cooper Scott Davis, Mary Ellen Reed; special friend, Bobby R.
