Jamie Phillips Roddey, 71, of Laurel, Mississippi, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Friday, August 12, 1949, in Soso, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at Ellisville Funeral Home

and the Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Macon Phillips, Bro. Joey Smith, and Bro. Roy Crouch will officiate.

Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was a professional legal secretary and retired in 2018 after 50 years of service to the legal profession. She was a lifetime member of The National Association of Legal Secretaries; long-time member of Mississippi Legal Professional Association,

Pine Belt Legal Professionals, Tallahala Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution, and Linda Chapter #312 Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by James Phillips (Father), Mayzelle Phillips (Mother).

Survivors include Renee Roddey (Daughter), Sheila (Doug) Van Fleet (Daughter), Sandra Hatton (Sister), Max (Suzi) Phillips (Brother), Sallie (Jimmy) Rustin (Sister), James Van Fleet (Grandson), Jesse Van Fleet (Grandson), Macon (Casee) Phillips (Nephew), Kendra (Richie) Dearman (Niece), and Joseph (Jessica) McCollum (Nephew).

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Phillips, Caleb Phillips, Garrett Phillips, Carter Phillips, Cade Locklear, Chad Locklear, Zach Dearman, Logan Dearman, Mason Williamson, and Dillon Williamson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Flowers and Jagger McCollum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Steele Baptist Church Building Fund, 8977 Hwy 21, Forest, MS 39074.
